Why Earth Month Matters to DSC

At DSC, we believe that true innovation means protecting the planet while delivering the performance and comfort our products are known for. That belief is at the heart of  Run the Relay, our global sustainability program focused on reducing environmental impact through action, accountability, and continuous progress.

This April, we’re celebrating Earth Month not only as a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, but as a chance to deepen our efforts. Across our global network, from Vietnam to Taiwan to Michigan, we’re planting trees, cleaning up communities, and reenergizing our commitment to building a more sustainable future, one step at a time.

Run the Relay: Turning Purpose into Progress

Run the Relay represents DSC’s long-term commitment to doing better—for our customers, our communities, and the environment. The program is built on four key pillars: engaging our people, developing sustainable materials, repurposing production waste, and maintaining rigorous third-party certifications.

To ensure we’re doing things the right way, our materials and processes are certified by respected organizations such as ISO, Intertek, and Global Recycled Standard. These certifications help verify that our materials and processes meet global industry-leading sustainability and safety standards, keeping us accountable, transparent, and always improving.

From implementing vegan meal options in our factories to launching our closed-loop 3R Method (Reduce. Reuse. Regrind.), DSC is making meaningful strides toward a more sustainable future. Our 3R Method serves as our material playbook for addressing production waste—capturing foam scraps and regrinding them into new high-performance materials. This approach helps reduce landfill waste and contributes to lowering our carbon emissions.

At the same time, we’re advancing material innovation by incorporating bio-based and recycled resources into our foam formulas. By using ingredients like castor bean oil, algae, and spent coffee grounds, we aim to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels—all while delivering the comfort and quality that define DSC.

These innovations highlight how performance and sustainability can support each other in meaningful ways, proving that environmental responsibility and product excellence can go hand in hand.

Earth Month in Action

This Earth Month, our commitment came to life through meaningful, hands-on initiatives around the world. Our teams participated in local garbage clean-up events in Vietnam, tree-planting projects across China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Michigan, and sustainability education sessions and awareness campaigns throughout our offices and factories. These activities strengthen our culture of environmental responsibility and demonstrate the power of collective action. When every team member takes a step, the impact grows. Whether it’s planting a tree or reducing waste, we’re all part of the solution.
