DSC Plants Seeds for the Future:

Celebrating World Environment Day with Tree Planting Event

World Environment Day (WED), established by the UN Environment Program in 1973, serves as a platform to raise awareness about critical environmental issues such as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, and sustainable development. Each year, WED inspires action through a dedicated theme. For 2024, the theme is “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” with the slogan “Our Land, Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration.”

In celebration of this year’s World Environment Day, DSC’s three factories in southern Vietnam—Dah Chen, Dah Sheng, and Active Creation—along with P.T. Dah Sheng in Indonesia, organized a tree planting event. Volunteers in each factory came together to plant trees, honoring Mother Earth and emphasizing the significance of our natural surroundings. Tree planting plays a crucial role in land restoration, making it a fitting activity for this year’s theme.

By participating in this event, DSC reinforces its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, contributing to a greener, healthier planet for future generations. Our celebration of World Environment Day exemplifies the “people” sector of our Run the Relay sustainability program. We ensure a balanced approach to sustainability by integrating this program into every aspect of our company, from production to daily operations. The people of DSC play a crucial role in fostering a culture of protection and environmental responsibility. Achieving our mission for a zero carbon, zero waste future relies on the harmonious balance of all these facets.
