DSC at the Agility Summit

Showcasing Innovation and Sustainability at Newlab Detroit

Last week, DSC had the privilege of attending and exhibiting at the Agility Summit, a two-day event hosted by Reverie. Set against the backdrop of Newlab in the heart of Downtown Detroit, the summit brought together leading innovators, founders, and thought leaders to explore the future of business, sustainability, and technology in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Newlab, described as “a new type of lab,” is a hub for collaboration between industry leaders and pioneers addressing real-world challenges through technology. This cutting-edge venue, nestled within Ford’s billion-dollar mobility innovation district, served as the perfect space for forward-thinking discussions on the intersection of mobility and technology. As they state, “We collaborate with leaders across industry and government with a new vision for technology-led economic development that drives meaningful progress for all.”

The event featured 15 expert speakers who covered a range of forward-thinking topics. From leveraging human behavioral science to optimize business strategies, to exploring the future impact of AI, each presentation offered valuable insights into how businesses can adapt and thrive.

DSC was particularly inspired by presentations that aligned with our commitment to sustainability. Disney Petit, founder of LiquiDonate, shared how her platform helps transition the world to a circular economy by finding homes for vast quantities of returns and donations that would otherwise end up in landfills. Frank Reinhold from BASF shared valuable insights on the significance of mattress recycling and the critical role bio-based materials play in reducing carbon footprints in manufacturing. Meredith Danberg-Ficarelli, co-founder and CEO of WATS, emphasized the importance of waste management and logistics in reducing environmental impact, while Roger Sklar, Principal and Founder of Critical Tier, discussed upcoming regulations in manufacturing that aim to drive greater ecological responsibility.

At our booth, DSC showcased some of our latest innovations, including the Durapontex® N20 insoles and our line of sustainable materials. Attendees were enthusiastic about testing our products, and we received positive feedback on both comfort and performance. The insole’s durability and support were especially in sync with the summit’s focus on agility and mobility, highlighting our commitment to creating sustainable solutions that enhance both performance and environmental responsibility.

DSC was honored to have been a part of such an impactful event that perfectly aligned with our core values of innovation, sustainability, and forward-thinking solutions. To learn more about our sustainability mission and how we’re making an impact, please visit our Run the Relay page.
